New slang when you notice the stripes

{American Apparel cape, H&M Hong Kong metallic sweater and bag}

“Don’t you see? It’s just not possible for one person to watch over another person forever and ever. I mean, suppose we got married. You’d have to work during the day. Who’s going to watch over me while you’re away? Or if you go on a business trip, who’s going to watch over me then? Can I be glued to you every minute of our lives? What kind of equality would there be in that? What kind of relationship would that be? Sooner or later you’d get sick of me. You’d wonder what you were doing with your life, why you were spending all your time babysitting this woman. I couldn’t stand that. It wouldn’t solve any of my problems.”

Haruki Murakami, Norwegian Wood

Three ways to ask "how was your weekend?" in French:
1. Vous avez fait quoi ce w/e?
2. Qu'avez-vous fait ce w/e?
3. Qu'est-ce que vous avez ce w/e?

So, how was your weekend everyone? Mine was spent looking for happy/lucky bags. Every new year, Japanese boutiques, stores and shopping malls are one at providing happy bags campaign for shoppers. It's basically a bag with random items inside which is sold at a certain amount. For example, we got a bag of hair accessories for ¥1,000. We got 10 hair accessories that's even worth ¥12,000 approximately if bought separately. Lucky, isn't it? We are definitely happy with what we got!

I somehow believe that I'm that kind of woman who has a lot of ambitions, independent and idealistic but at the same time, I'm very sensitive, moody and soft-hearted. Receiving this bouquet of flowers on Christmas is enough to make my heart melt. Thanks to my boyfriend for spoiling me!

Contrasting behavior, yes.

I just love the fact that you read Murakami's books (I don't but do wish I do). Are you reading them in Japanese or in English?
